School is kicking everyone's ass. Damn.
I'm gonna be doing hours of work after school every day this week + weekend, and probably next week.
Damn!

  1. You read Camus, Emerson, and Thoreau while we trudge through the Puritan writers, The Crucible, Irving, and Poe. We'll probably be getting to Emerson + transcendentalists and Thoreau later in the term.
In other words, fuck you, lucky bastard!

  2. We did Jonathan Edwards for the Puritans early in the year, but not Crucible. Irving and Poe I've already read their major works but we did not do them at all. And yeah, I have to have I'm quite lucky to have Dr. Simon for AP English. We've read quite a lot in the last couple of months from Native American literature to African literature. We're starting Hawthorne this weekend and after that I believe we get into Capote then the feminist unit with Margaret Atwood, Zora Neale Hurston, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, among others.

  3. We did Edwards, Bradford, Bradstreet, and then Smith. And we have this huge author project where everyone picks an 18th or 19th century author and does a huge thing with them (Hawthorne was one of the authors and Harte is mine), and now we're just starting with the romanticists (which is why we're reading Poe and Irving). I would kill to read Camus now.

  4. 18th or 19th century authors and you chose Harte? I would've gone with James.
